Texas-born artist Paul Manes has mastered a range of media spanning from charcoal and oil painting, to the clay mineral kaolin and burlap. His densely layered images often contain universally recognizable motifs that are supported by a conceptualized framework.
Manes’s unique work is part of multiple collections, both public and private including, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, the Detroit Institute of Arts Museum, the Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the private collection of Yoko Ono.
